Ethical Sourcing

Isabelle’s Fine Jewelry has a zero-tolerance policy toward conflict diamonds. With the help of measures like the Kimberley Process that tracks diamonds from mine to market, we utilize the United Nations, governments as well as non-governmental organizations that police our diamond imports to prevent the trade of illegal diamonds.

We only purchase diamonds from ethical sources and the most respected suppliers and traders, who, like us, proudly adhere to and enforce the standards as established by Kimberley Process. We warrantee our diamonds to be conflict free. We constantly monitor our supplies to guarantee its validity. We will continue to support and promote the processes that work to support authenticity and sustainability in the diamond industry.

Diamonds are mined all around the world such as major mines in Australia, Africa, Russia and Canada. Providing employment and health care to thousands, diamonds are a major source of good in most African nations. Get more details at DiamondFacts.org.

About The Kimberley Process

Isabelle’s Fine Jewelry is a great supporter of the Kimberley Process, which is an International process for tracking and certifying diamonds. In 2003 Congress and the President of the United States passed a law adopting the Kimberley Process. This required all US diamond retailers to purchase diamonds only from manufacturers who have the documentation warranting that the merchandise was obtained through legitimate sources. Today, the US Customs Service actively enforces the Kimberley Process requirements when diamonds arrive at American ports.

Concerning Zimbabwe Diamonds

We, at Isabelle’s Fine Jewelry, are committed to making sure that the highest ethical standards are followed when it comes to sourcing of our diamonds and jewelry. Owing to the reported human rights abuses in Zimbabwe’s Marange diamond district, we will neither purchase nor offer diamonds from that area. We are continuously working with our suppliers and traders to ensure that our customers receive only the finest goods procured from ethical and environmentally responsible sources. We always hold true to our values of transparency.

Isabelle’s Fine Jewelry Position on Responsible Mining

At Isabelle’s Fine Jewelry, we will continue to:

  • Work to make sure that our precious metals come from traders that meet the highest human rights social as well as environmental criteria.
  • Encourage our suppliers to influence sourcing of gold products.
  • Research mining, refinement, and manufacturing practices of gold that moves through the supply chain.
  • Prefer those suppliers that source gold from mines that observe high standards of environmental stewardship.
  • Continue to commit towards increased gold sourcing from recycled and secondary sources.
  • Measure and establish benchmarks with the purpose of continuous development.

We view our policy on responsible mining as an evolving standard. We commit to review our position with the aim of expanding it over time as to have the biggest possible impact.
